Annual Florence Festivals
- January: Florence Fashion Shows, a number of notable events featuring prominent Italian designers and top models
- February: Viareggio Carnival, take place over three weeks, with a number of colourful processions and enormous crowds
- May: Maggio Musicale, a particularly notable arts festivals in the Florence area
- June: Calcio Storico / Costumed Football, an unusual mixture of football, rugby and period costumes
- June to August: Estate Fiesolana / Fiesole Summer, with live music, dancing and theatrical performances
- July: Feast on San Paolino, centred around the Lucca area every year, with a costumed torchlit parade honouring the patron saint of the city
- September: Rificolone, held each year in September, with smartly dressed children carrying colourful papier-mâché lanterns around Florence's Piazza Santissima Annunziata
- November: Festival dei Popoli, one of the most notable film festivals in the whole of Tuscany
- December: Burning of the Tree, based in Camporgiano, close to Lucca, with an enormous bonfire constructed out of evergreen branches
